JMW Solicitors LLP

The Monika banking and payments platform has played an essential part in enabling the court of protection department to scale quickly and the team utilises the full capabilities of Monika, from bank account opening, bulk payment processing and balance sweeping, to our new Fast Funds Access Service (FFAS). A close working relationship is a cornerstone of the success of the partnership.

JMW Solicitors Deputyship Team

The JMW team also utilise the Money Carer Foundation (MCF) Interim Appointeeship Service. Here, new clients of JMW are sign-posted to MCF, via a best interest decision and data sharing agreement, so that clients can receive a cost effective appointeeship plan whilst the deputyship application commences with the court of protection. When the deputyship order is awarded by the court, JMW take over the appointeeship in a documented and seamless process as welfare benefits entitlements and everyday bill payments and direct debits are already in place on the clients Cashplus Bank account on the Monika platform.

This sensible approach benefits all involved and can deliver substantial savings to the protected person given the very different cost structures of the two organisations and represents a good example of how a social enterprise and a large law firm can work together for the benefit of a vulnerable person.
